FAQ

Are all D2 Survivors projects made by the same person?
No. The browser game is by framara. The Windows builds and the Korean patch are published by other GitHub users, and their pages do not claim to be the same author.
Which version needs Diablo II: Resurrected?
The d2survivors-releases builds state they need a Diablo II: Resurrected install. The browser game accepts classic Diablo II LoD 1.14 or D2R.
Does this wiki host any downloads?
No. We never host game files or builds.

D2 Survivors, the free Diablo II–inspired browser game, shows up in more than one place, and the names overlap. This post sorts out what each project is, using only what their own pages say. Published 2026-10-18.

1. The original browser game: d2survivors.lol

The developer’s site says the game is made by framara, is free with no ads, and is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment. It runs in a desktop browser and as Mac (Apple silicon) and Windows apps. It reads art and sound from your own Diablo II install and says the files are not uploaded. This wiki embeds that game and writes guides for it.

2. The Windows builds: d2survivors-releases

A separate GitHub repository publishes zip builds “without source”, which it describes as a survivors-like built on Diablo II: Resurrected’s art. You unzip and run D2SurvivorsLauncher.exe, and the launcher updates itself from the repository. It states it is a fan project not affiliated with Blizzard. Its page does not say it is connected to d2survivors.lol, and we have found no statement that it is, so we treat it as a different project with a similar name. Controls and features differ from the browser game; we have not played it, so we do not cover it in detail.

3. The Korean patch: d2survivors-kr

This repository is an unofficial Korean-language patch for D2 Survivors that follows D2R’s Korean item, skill, area and monster names. The desktop version is Windows only; the web version works on Windows and macOS as a Chrome or Edge extension used with d2survivors.lol. Its page says it is unaffiliated with Blizzard and with the D2 Survivors creators. The developer’s own site also has a Korean language option; the patch is a separate community effort.

4. Guide sites: d2survivors.com and this wiki

Both are independent fan sites that embed the original browser game and publish guides. Neither is run by the developer. Pages here are written separately; see About.

Which one should I use?

  • Want the easiest start? The browser game on the home page, after you read Setup Files.
  • Prefer a Mac or Windows app? Use the developer’s apps from d2survivors.lol.
  • Playing in Korean? Look at the d2survivors-kr page and read its install notes first.
  • Unsure about a download? Stick to the developer’s own pages and see the safety notes on Resources.
